J. Michael Ribaudo, M.D., has over 27 years experience as a surgeon and healthcare executive. As a champion for physicians seeking a new model for delivering anesthesia services to ambulatory surgery centers, Dr. Ribaudo co-founded Surgical Anesthesia Services.
As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SAS, Dr. Ribaudo's most important role is to create the vision for successful integration of anesthesia services with surgery centers and to identify and integrate all the elements necessary to make that vision a reality. He is responsible for strategic planning and guides SAS's management team to success by empowering them with the tools to carry out their strategic vision.
Dr. Ribaudo graduated from Louisiana State Medical School with graduate medical school training at Emory University, Washington University and New York University. He received postgraduate training at Harvard Law School, Kellogg Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Flow International and chairs its Compensation Committee. In the past, Dr. Ribaudo has served as Executive Vice President of Surgical Health Corporation and HealthSouth Surgery Centers.
Andrew Ribaudo joined Surgical Anesthesia Services in December 2005. Mr. Ribaudo is responsible for marketing SAS’s comprehensive suite of anesthesia services to ambulatory surgery centers throughout the United States. Prior to SAS, Mr. Ribaudo accumulated extensive experience in the banking industry. As an Associate of global sponsor finance at GE Commercial Finance, Mr. Ribaudo underwrote both cash flow and asset-based transactions for middle-market companies owned by private equity firms. Prior to GE, Mr. Ribaudo worked for SunTrust’s Corporate & Investment Bank in its healthcare and media communications sectors.
In 1998, Mr. Ribaudo received his bachelor’s degree in Government & Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. Mr. Ribaudo received his Master’s in Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, Atlanta, Georgia.
Kelly J. Scherbenske, M.S., M.S.N., has over 22 years of civilian and military experience providing anesthesia services and emergency and critical care. She is experienced in the set-up and management of anesthesia departments for surgery centers. She develops and provides policies and procedures, pharmacy management, and other services necessary for the successful development and operation of anesthesia departments.
Ms. Scherbenske’s academic preparation includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Critical Care from the University of Texas Health Science Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in San Antonio, Texas, and a Master of Science in Anesthesia from Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.
